133 Police Officers Sworn In, Including 64 Special Constabulary Members

A total of 133 police officers who recently joined the Maldives Police Service have taken their oaths of office. The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Iskandar Building, was administered by Civil Court Judge Alustath Mohamed Nishath. Among the new recruits, 64 officers belong to the Special Constabulary.
Attending the ceremony were Assistant Commissioner of Police Hussain Rashid, Head of the Professional Standards Command, and Superintendent of Police Azeez Wahid, Deputy Head of the Service Development Department.
In his address, Assistant Commissioner Hussain Rashid emphasised that taking an oath is a solemn pledge made before Allah, and that betraying the oath constitutes a serious failure from both religious and moral perspectives. He reminded the officers that every time they don their uniform, they must remember the oath they took—to serve justice, protect national security and public order, and sacrifice their lives if needed for the rights of the Maldivian nation and its people.
Urging impartiality, integrity and transparency, he said that without remaining firmly committed to the oath, gaining public trust and respect is impossible. Following the ceremony, the newly commissioned officers signed the official oath document.
