Abdulla Faiz Appointed Chairperson of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has appointed Abdulla Faiz as the Chairperson and a member of the Board of Directors of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO).
Faiz brings over three decades of extensive experience in the business and tourism sectors to the role. His leadership track record includes serving as the Chairperson of two of the country's most prominent state-owned enterprises: the State Trading Organisation (STO) and the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
Beyond state corporations, Faiz has held several high-ranking positions in the private sector. He previously served as the Managing Director of ADK Trade and Shipping and held directorships at Villa Shipping and Trading Company and Villa Hotels, where he led marketing and promotions. His professional expertise spans a wide array of critical industries, including logistics, hospitality, catering, and investment.
An influential figure in the Maldivian business community, Faiz was a founding member of several key industry bodies. These include the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he served as Secretary General, as well as the Maldives Traders Association, the Restaurant Association of Maldives, and the Maldives Association of Construction Industries (MACI).
His influence extends internationally through his long-standing involvement with the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A life member since 2001, Faiz also served as the organization's Vice-President, strengthening regional business ties.
Faiz holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business, providing a strong academic foundation to his extensive practical experience in corporate governance and industry development.
