Adam Azim Vows to Win MDP Primary Through Merit, Avoiding Personal Attacks

Male’ City Mayor Adam Azim has pledged to contest the upcoming Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) primary on the basis of merit, emphasizing that he will not resort to personal attacks or 'eating anyone’s flesh and bones' to secure victory. Azim, who faces former MP Ali Azim as his main challenger, made the statement during a campaign rally on Thursday evening. Azim highlighted his commitment to addressing Male’s challenges, particularly issues related to property and financial misconduct, and revealed that he has requested the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to audit the city council. He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability, promising not to defame opponents but to focus on solving problems. Azim expressed confidence in a decisive victory and pledged collaboration among party members to deliver services that improve citizens’ lives.
