Adam Shameem Appointed Chief Judicial Administrator Following Competitive Selection Process

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed Adam Shameem as the new Chief Judicial Administrator of the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA). Shameem, hailing from Malaaz, Maaenboodhoo in Dhaalu Atoll, secured the appointment after achieving the highest marks during the interview process. The JSC confirmed that the decision was based on a formal report submitted by the interview panel, which evaluated candidates who met the strict eligibility requirements for the role. A seasoned legal professional, Shameem brings extensive experience to the position. He is a recognized legal and defense lawyer with a long history of practicing in courts across the Maldives, providing him with the necessary expertise to lead the administrative wing of the judiciary. The recruitment process began on July 8, following the resignation of the former Chief Judicial Administrator, Amjad Mustafa. According to the JSC, ten legal professionals applied for the high-ranking role, reflecting a competitive field of candidates vying to manage the department's operations. As Chief Judicial Administrator, Shameem will be responsible for overseeing the administrative functions that support the Maldivian court system, ensuring the efficient delivery of justice through streamlined departmental management.
