The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Conference 2026, organized by Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) in collaboration with the Maldives National University (MNU), has concluded successfully. The two-day event, held from Wednesday until yesterday, was an important meeting aimed at ensuring workplace safety and employee health and well-being in the country. Senior officials, sector experts, healthcare professionals, and policymakers from various parts of the country participated. The conference featured 29 speakers and facilitators and approximately 120 participants, discussing measures to protect workers from various risks in the work environment and highlighting challenges and opportunities in the field. AEH noted that workplace safety is a sector given special importance by the government, with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu enacting the Workplace Safety and Health Act on January 02, 2024. The conference reinforced this national initiative and strengthened connections among institutions. Dhiraagu served as the digital partner, Taza as the beverage partner, and STO Healthcare as the sponsorship partner. AEH thanked all supporters and called for workplace safety to be viewed as a collective responsibility.
