Ahmed Salim Reappointed Chairman of Budget Committee, Ali Fazaa as Deputy

The Budget Committee of the People's Majlis has appointed Aydhufushi constituency PNC member Ahmed Salim as its chairman for the study of the state budget for next year. Ali Fazaa, the PNC member of Fuvaammul Middle constituency who held the position last year, was appointed as deputy chairman. The appointments were made during the committee's first meeting regarding the budget submitted to the Majlis last week. Mohamed Mamdooh, PNC member of Funafu constituency, proposed the names, and Abdulla Sharif, PNC member of Kelaa constituency, supported them. Both proposals were passed by consensus of the 16 members present. This is the second time Salim has served as Budget Committee chairman; previously, in the current 20th Majlis, Fazaa chaired the first Budget Committee with Salim as his deputy. The committee is a joint panel comprising members of the Majlis Finance Committee and the Economic Committee, totaling 22 members.
