In a significant milestone for the Maldives aviation sector, Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen announced on Wednesday that all airports across the Maldives are now equipped with night landing facilities. The final installation was completed at Funadhoo Airport, marking the achievement of a key national target set by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Night landing infrastructure includes aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) systems, navigational aids, and rotating beacons, enabling aircraft to land safely after dark. The Maldives currently operates 18 airports, including five international airports: Velana, Gan, Hanimaadhoo, Maafaru, and Hoarafushi.
