Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen emphasized that the launch of seaplane service in AA. Thoddoo will significantly boost tourism on the island. The service was inaugurated on Thursday with a ceremony featuring cultural showcases, officiated by Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim, a native of Thoddoo. Ameen highlighted that the new service will enhance tourism in both the island and the atoll while providing greater convenience for local residents. Special promotional fares for Maldivians, priced at MVR 799 for a one-way ticket, have also been introduced. Thoddoo, renowned for its watermelon farming and thriving guesthouse sector, remains a popular tourist destination. The seaplane service fulfills a key promise by President Mohamed Muizzu.
