Apple has increased orders for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable phone, by 30 percent, China's Securities Times newspaper reported, citing parties that supply the company's products.
Previously, Apple had prepared to produce 6 million to 7 million units of the iPhone Duo, but with this change the number of phones produced by the end of 2026 will approach 10 million.
Orders for other Apple models have also changed. Orders for the iPhone 18 Pro Max have been increased to a figure between 10 percent and 15 percent, while orders for the iPhone 18 Pro have been lowered by 15 percent.
The iPhone Duo, which features foldable screen technology, is set to be released to the market at a price of 1,999 US dollars. Pre-orders for the phone open on 16 October 2026, and the phone will be available from the market starting 23 October 2026.
Reports say Apple decided to increase production because the phone's reception is expected to be strong in the coming days. However, Apple has not yet officially said anything regarding the change brought to the orders.
