Applicants can now check points for 100 housing units in Vilufushi

Local News ·
The Housing Ministry has announced that applicants for 100 housing units in Vilufushi, Thaa Atoll, can now view their points through the Hiyavahi portal. The units are three-bedroom, three-bathroom homes built on 2,000 square feet of land. The project, initially awarded to Noomadi Company in 2011, stalled before being reassigned to Ameen Construction in August 2021 for MVR 82.1 million to complete the unfinished work. While construction is now finished, water and sewerage connections are not yet in place, preventing residents from moving in. President Mohamed Muizzu had stated last year that the work would be completed. In July last year, a MVR 13.8 million contract for water and sewerage was awarded to Fenaka Corporation with an eight-month timeline. However, 15 months later, the work remains at the survey and design stage. Any complaints regarding the points can be submitted via the Hiyavahi portal until November 10 at 2:00 PM. Complaints sent through other means or after the deadline will not be accepted.
