Armenia's Shirak Aviation to Launch Flights to Maldives Next Month
Business ·
Armenia's Shirak Aviation has announced that it will begin flights to the Maldives next month. According to the schedule released by the airline, flights will start on the 14th of next month and will operate every Sunday. The route will depart from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, with a stopover in Muscat, Oman, before flying directly to Male.
The airline will use a Boeing 737-800 aircraft for these flights. The service is part of additional routes being introduced for the upcoming winter season.
Meanwhile, the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that 10 foreign airlines will use the domestic terminal at Velana International Airport for check-in during the winter peak season. This decision comes as the Maldives prepares for an increase in tourist arrivals during the peak season.
Tourism Ministry statistics show that so far this year, 1.7 million tourists have visited the Maldives. While this represents a 3.2% decrease compared to the same period last year, it is an increase compared to 2024.
