Arsenal to Face Lille Without Zubimendi and Hincapié in Champions League Clash

World ·
Arsenal have confirmed that two of their key players will be unavailable for tonight's Champions League match against France's Lille. The English champions' coach, Mikel Arteta, said ahead of the match that Spain midfielder Martín Zubimendi and Piero Hincapié did not take part in the most recent training sessions. "We were unlucky that we could not get these two players involved in this match. We have lost two very important players for us. But even so, the team is ready. No Champions League match will be easy," Arteta said. The coach of the team that played in last season's final said he has given his players a great deal of encouragement after they lost to French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), as they set out to defend the trophy. "I told them that this is what we deserve. However many times in the club's history we have also travelled as far as the final. Winning the Champions League is not that easy a thing. So we are satisfied with the success we have achieved. But we always want to go further than that. This season, too, our target is the trophy. A lot of work has to be done to get there," the coach said. Arteta said many teams have strengthened for the Champions League this season as well, and that Lille is also a great team. "When you watch their matches you can tell that they are a great team. A very well-organised team. This match will not be easy for us in any way. We have to work very hard," the coach said. The match kicks off tonight at twelve o'clock at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.
