Audit Finds Budget and Account Discrepancies in B. Buruni Council for 2024

An audit report has revealed discrepancies between the budget and revised budget figures approved by the B. Buruni Council in 2024 and the Council's actual accounts. The Auditor General's Office stated that the income and expenditure figures in the revised budget included in the Council's budget spending statement do not match its accounts. The issue arose because figures were incorrectly entered into the "Viya" module as a supplementary budget without formal Council approval. The Auditor General's Office has instructed the Council to properly include budget figures in the accounting system and ensure that financial statements match the Council's accounts.
