An audit has revealed that the Eydhafushi Council failed to collect MVR 342,702 in revenue for 2024, violating State Financial Regulations that require such funds to be collected within one month. The uncollected amount includes hotel rent, waste collection fees, and advance payments for a pickup truck. The Auditor General has ordered an investigation into the matter and directed action against the responsible parties for not following proper recovery procedures. The Council Office claimed that letters and reminders were sent to some parties, but appropriate actions in line with the State Financial Regulations were not fully executed. The Auditor General's Office has instructed the Council to adhere to the regulations and ensure accountability.
