Azim Promises World-Class Surfing Facilities for Youth in Malé Reef Area

Male City Mayor Adam Azim stated that the facilities currently available to young surfers in the Malé Reef area are in very poor condition, despite the reefs being world-class. Azim, who is running as the running mate of former Vice President Faisal Naseem in the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) presidential primary, made the remarks on Friday after visiting a surfing competition in the Malé Reef area and meeting with young surfers. He promised that under an MDP government, modern resources and arrangements for storing surfboards will be fully established, acknowledging the difficulty of transporting boards through Malé. Azim highlighted the sport's potential to win gold medals and pledged to provide the most complete facilities for the children.
