Bad Weather Expected for Next 5 Days Across Maldives

The Meteorological Department has forecast bad weather in various parts of the country for the next 5 days. The department stated that the bad weather will start from tomorrow and continue until Wednesday. The Meteorological Department said that since the strength of the west monsoon is expected to intensify over the next 5 days, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in various parts of the country during those days. Furthermore, the department forecasts that gusts may affect certain areas. Although there will be bad weather, the department stated that strong general winds are not expected during these days. Accordingly, while general winds may have a speed between 5 and 15 miles per hour, it is likely that winds in the sea lanes could reach up to 40 miles per hour, according to the Meteorological Department. Due to rough seas during rainfall, the Meteorological Department has urged maritime operators to pay attention to the weather. It also stated that the latest information regarding the weather would be shared by the department.
