Bank of Maldives Offers Weekly $1,000 Prizes for USD Debit Card Use
World ·
The Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced a new incentive program offering customers the chance to win USD 1,000 every week. The promotion aims to increase the adoption of digital payment methods by rewarding those who use the bank's USD debit cards for their daily expenditures.
To qualify for the weekly draw, cardholders must spend a minimum of USD 100 on eligible transactions within a single week. Qualifying expenses include a wide range of digital services, such as monthly subscriptions, travel tickets, and various online bill payments.
The promotion runs until July 30, giving customers nearly two months to participate in the recurring prize draws. The bank has stated that the initiative is specifically designed to encourage a shift toward digital financial tools for routine expenses, reducing reliance on traditional cash transactions for international or digital payments.
Customers who do not yet possess a USD debit card can apply through any BML branch or via the bank's online banking platform. Once the card is issued, all transactions must be completed by the July 30 deadline to be eligible for the final draws.
As the Maldives continues to modernize its financial landscape, such initiatives by the nation's largest bank reflect a broader trend toward digitizing the economy and streamlining how residents handle foreign currency transactions for global services.
