Bank of Maldives Sets June 14 Deadline for Community Grant Applications
Politics ·
The Bank of Maldives (BML) has issued a final reminder to registered clubs and associations to submit their proposals for the 2026 BML Bank Fund before the window closes on June 14 at 2:00 pm.
The grant program, which opened for applications on May 13, is designed to provide financial support for grassroots initiatives. Five winning projects will be selected, with each receiving up to MVR 12,970 (approximately USD 840) to fund community-driven goals.
Eligible projects must focus on one of four key pillars: education, environment, sports, or community development. The initiative aims to empower local organizations to implement sustainable, high-impact projects that benefit their respective islands and populations.
Introduced in 2024 as part of the bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, the BML Bank Fund targets officially registered Maldivian organizations. To apply, eligible clubs must submit completed application forms and detailed project proposals via email to the bank's designated address.
The funding provided will specifically cover implementation costs for the selected projects. BML officials stated that the winners will be announced shortly after the submission deadline passes on Friday.
