Bank of Maldives Sets June 14 Deadline for Community Project Grants
Politics ·
The Bank of Maldives (BML) has issued a final reminder to registered clubs and associations to submit their proposals for the 2026 BML Bank Fund before the window closes on June 14 at 2:00 pm.
Launched on May 13, the grant program seeks to support grassroots initiatives across the archipelago. Five winning projects will be selected, with each receiving up to MVR 12,970 (approximately USD 840) to fund community-driven efforts.
Eligible proposals must focus on four key pillars: education, environmental protection, sports, and community development. The fund is designed to provide the necessary financial catalyst for local organizations to implement sustainable, high-impact projects that benefit their respective islands.
Introduced in 2024 as part of the bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, the BML Bank Fund aims to empower local associations by providing direct funding for implementation costs. The initiative recognizes the vital role that registered community clubs play in fostering regional growth and social cohesion.
To be eligible, organizations must be officially registered within the Maldives. Interested clubs can apply by submitting their completed application forms and detailed project proposals via email. BML has stated that the winners will be announced shortly after the submission deadline passes.
