Bank of Maldives Upgrades AI Assistant Aaya to Streamline Digital Banking
World ·
The Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched a significant update to Aaya, its AI-powered digital banking assistant, to accelerate service delivery across its mobile app and internet banking platforms.
As part of the upgrade, BML has disabled the previous messaging feature that allowed customers to send manual banking requests. All inquiries are now routed through Aaya, a move designed to create a more streamlined and efficient customer experience by automating routine tasks.
According to the bank, the refreshed Aaya can now resolve common queries and process standard banking requests automatically, reducing wait times for users. Despite the shift toward automation, BML has ensured that human support remains accessible. Users can opt to connect directly with a bank staff member through the assistant whenever personalized assistance is required, maintaining 24/7 support availability.
BML stated that this update is part of its broader commitment to leveraging technology to enhance service quality and convenience. By centralizing interactions through the AI assistant, the bank aims to provide quicker and more consistent responses while retaining the essential human touch for complex issues.
Aaya was first introduced on May 31, 2023, as the bank's first AI-driven initiative to provide uninterrupted, round-the-clock support. This latest enhancement aligns with BML's long-term strategy to modernize its digital banking suite and ensure a seamless, user-friendly experience across all digital channels for its diverse customer base.
