BML Cards Blocked on Some Websites Including Amazon and AliExpress

Local News ·
Bank of Maldives (BML) has reportedly blocked the use of its cards on certain e-commerce websites, including Amazon and AliExpress, raising concerns among customers. According to reports, numerous users have faced issues when attempting to make purchases on these platforms using BML cards. The bank has clarified that no specific website has been blocked and assured customers that transactions can still be made on most platforms. However, concerns remain as some users claim their cards were declined on these sites. BML’s CEO, Mohamed Shareef, reiterated that the bank does not block any websites and encourages customers to contact their support team for assistance. Additionally, in June 2025, BML introduced a 30% fee increase for transactions made on foreign websites, which has further fueled dissatisfaction among customers.
