Budget to Include MVR 750 Million for Special Home Loan Scheme: Finance Minister

Finance Minister Hassan Zareer announced that the state budget presented to the People's Majlis today includes 750 million rufiyaa to be released as equity for a special loan scheme intended for those wishing to purchase new homes and for construction purposes. Addressing the Majlis session during the budget presentation, Minister Zareer noted that many citizens own land but lack the financial capacity to build homes on it. He said the budget for next year includes the allocation within the housing sector, paving the way for many families to realize their dream of home ownership. The minister also said the budget includes efforts to establish basic water and sanitation services on vacant lands in various islands, as well as developmental projects in the education sector, including building classrooms and multipurpose halls and establishing laboratories for higher education.
