Buru Down Gaddhu 2-0 with Second-Half Goals for First League Win

Buru Sports Club secured their first win of the Dhivehi Premier League after beating Gdh. Gaddhu 2-0, with both goals coming in the second half at the National Football Stadium in Malé this evening. The match brought together two teams that had arrived without a point. Gaddhu, completely new to the country's top league, were held by Buru until the end of the first half. In the fifth minute of the second half, Buru took the lead through Argentine forward Juan Eduardo Lescano. Khalil Jamal, an experienced Egyptian player in the Maldivian league, received the ball outside the area and lifted it over Gaddhu's defenders to Lescano. Lescano put the ball into the top corner of the goal. Buru's second goal came in the 78th minute from Ibrahim Usama Hussain Majeed. Ali Hamdhan, from outside the area, played the ball to the edge of the area to Usama. Usama took the ball into the box, and it looked as though he would cross in front of goal. Instead, from inside the area, he shot toward the near post. The ball went into the goal after hitting the hand of Gaddhu goalkeeper Boyan Mukorovich.
