Cambodia Accuses Thailand of Continued Bombing Despite Trump's Truce Call
International ·
Cambodia has accused Thailand of continuing to drop bombs on its territory hours after US President Donald Trump announced that the neighboring countries had agreed to a ceasefire. The conflict, stemming from a long-standing dispute over their colonial-era border demarcation, has displaced around half a million people on both sides. According to Cambodia's defense ministry, Thai military aircraft dropped bombs on December 13, 2025, targeting several areas. This comes despite Trump's statement on Friday that Thailand and Cambodia had agreed to halt hostilities along their disputed border, which has claimed at least 20 lives this week. Trump announced the truce on his Truth Social platform, citing a peace accord brokered with the help of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. However, Cambodia has maintained that Thai forces have not stopped bombing. Both nations have accused each other of reigniting the decades-old conflict.
