Cameroon Coach Criticizes Eto'o After Excluding Onana and Aboubakar
Politics ·
Cameroon's national football team has been making headlines due to a controversial decision by its coach, Marc Brys, to exclude key players André Onana and Vincent Aboubakar from the squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON). This decision has drawn sharp criticism from Samuel Eto'o, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation, who accused Brys of mismanaging the team. Onana, the 29-year-old goalkeeper, plays for Turkish club Trabzonspor, while Aboubakar, 33, is a forward for Azerbaijan's Neftçi. Brys defended his decision, stating that his selections were based on strategy and not personal issues. He emphasized that the exclusion of the two players was necessary for the team's preparation for the tournament. The controversy comes as Cameroon prepares to face Guinea-Bissau in their opening match of the AFCON group stage.
