Children across the greater Male’ region celebrated Eid Al-Adha with a series of interactive festivals designed to blend festive joy with community engagement. The events took place across four key areas, including Male’, Hulhumalé, and Villimalé, bringing families together for a day of celebration. The festivities were a collaborative effort, organized with the active participation of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the Maldives Police Service (MPS), and various government agencies and state-owned enterprises. Each participating organization set up dedicated stalls featuring interactive exhibits and activities tailored for young visitors. One of the primary attractions for the children was the display of operational equipment and uniforms from the MNDF and MPS. The agencies showcased a variety of land and marine vehicles, allowing children to explore the machinery and take photographs, providing a rare glimpse into the daily operations of the nation's security forces. Young attendees expressed high levels of excitement, particularly regarding the police vehicles and the opportunity to engage with uniformed officers in a friendly, festive environment. Parents noted that the events provided a meaningful way for children to celebrate the holiday while learning about the roles of different state institutions. While the city-based festivals drew large crowds, the spirit of Eid Al-Adha extended across the archipelago. In various islands throughout the country, residents observed the holiday through traditional sports and cultural activities, maintaining the Maldivian heritage of community-led celebrations during the religious holiday.
