China set a new record by executing 92 space launches in 2025, the highest annual total in its history, according to state-run media reports. The China National Space Administration (CNSA) highlighted that the year witnessed multiple breakthroughs and several firsts in manned spaceflight, deep-space exploration, and commercial space activities. Key missions included the Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 crewed flights, as well as the Tianzhou-9 cargo resupply missions, which delivered supplies and scientific payloads to the Tiangong space station. The CNSA also emphasized the growing role of China’s commercial space sector, with private and state-backed companies launching satellites for broadband internet constellations, remote sensing, and technology demonstrations. This milestone underscores China’s rapid advancements in space exploration and its ambition to cement itself as a global leader in the field.
