China's UBTech unveils U1 humanoid robot, priced up to 990,000 yuan

China's UBTech has unveiled its new humanoid robot, the 'U1'. The U1 was unveiled on 30 June 2026, and prices for the robot have been set at 119,800 yuan (about GBP 13,200) and 990,000 yuan (about GBP 109,000). UBTech also presented its 'UWorld' platform and its 'Walker S2' robot. Analysts have issued forecasts for the humanoid robot sector: Barclays projects 11 million humanoid robots by 2035, while Morgan Stanley expects 12,000 humanoid robots.
