Rotime Engineering and Technology Co. Ltd., a Chinese company, has secured a contract for the development and repair of key road networks in Hulhumalé. The agreement, formalized with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on December 3, will see the paving of five unfinished roads in Phase I and the road adjacent to Vinares Flats in Phase II.
The project encompasses the asphalting of a total of 1.1 kilometres of roadway. A significant component of the contract involves repairing existing damaged roads, with Fithuroanu Magu specifically identified for upgrades. This initiative aims to improve connectivity and infrastructure for residents and businesses across the two phases of the reclaimed island.
HDC has set a six-month deadline for Rotime Engineering and Technology to complete all the contracted work. The project is expected to alleviate current traffic inconveniences and enhance the overall urban landscape of Hulhumalé, a key residential and commercial hub in the Greater Malé Region.
