City Council Election Boundaries Finalized and Announced by Elections Commission

The Elections Commission (EC) has finalized and announced the electoral boundaries for the upcoming City Council elections. The commission has made public the delimitation report, which outlines the constituencies for the election. The report was announced on the notice board of the EC, and the public has been given the opportunity to raise objections or concerns regarding the boundaries. The objection period will be open from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekdays and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on weekends, starting from the day of the announcement. The report details the constituencies for Male’, Addu, Kulhudhuffushi, Thinadhoo, Fuvahmulah, and other cities. According to the report, Male’ will have seven constituencies, Addu will have 11, Kulhudhuffushi will have seven, Thinadhoo will have six, and Fuvahmulah will have five. The report also specifies the number of councilors to be elected from each constituency. The EC has invited the public to scrutinize the delimitation report and has provided a procedure for raising objections, which must be submitted in writing to the commission’s office or via email.
