Concerns Grow Over Stalled South Fevaku School Project as Water Body Expands

Education ·
The Island Council has expressed growing concern over the stalled South Fevaku School project, reporting that the water body on the land allocated for construction has expanded further. The project, originally initiated by the previous government, has seen no progress since the current administration came to power. According to information shared with Raajje TV, the project was initially entrusted solely for building a multi-purpose hall. A large plot of 51,600 square feet was later allocated to relocate the school to the site. The Council revealed that while the current government has taken up the tender for the project's land, additional land is required for the planned construction. The Council stated that after holding meetings with residents, the land has been increased as much as required by the government, and the plan has been submitted for approval. The Council noted that significant work had been completed on the multi-purpose hall during the previous administration, but progress ceased when the new government took over. The halted construction has led to the water body on the site growing larger, becoming a major concern for local residents who have strongly requested the project to move forward. The Island Council confirmed there is no other update on the project besides the expanding water body.
