Deadline Set for President’s Award for Special Achievement Nominations on August 31
World ·
The Special Awards Committee has announced that nominations for the President’s Award for Special Achievement will officially close on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Interested candidates must submit their applications via the President’s Office Form Submission portal. The committee emphasized that all submissions must include every document specified under the applicant's chosen award category to be considered for the honor.
Strict requirements have been set for those seeking recognition based on Levels 7, 8, or 9 of the Maldives National Qualifications Framework. These applicants are required to provide official confirmation from their awarding institution verifying that they achieved first place or the highest standing in their program. Additionally, applicants must provide documentation of their average marks or Grade Point Average (GPA).
For those who obtained qualifications from overseas universities, an additional step is required: a copy of the certificate must be submitted showing verification of the qualification level by the Maldives Qualifications Authority. The committee further noted that all supporting documents must be certified as true copies of the originals.
This year, the award will recognize excellence across four distinct categories. These include outstanding achievements in higher education or training programs, and the highest placement or distinction in internationally recognized competitions or exhibitions.
Furthermore, the awards will honor inventions, innovations, or academic research that address significant challenges facing the Maldives. The final category recognizes skilled and hardworking young people whose innovative contributions drive national development.
The committee advises all applicants to conduct a final review of their supporting documentation to ensure completeness before the August 31 deadline.
