Development projects underway to upgrade Alif Alif Atoll Madrasaa
Education ·
The Alif Alif Atoll Madrasaa in Hoorafushi, Alif Alif Atoll, is undergoing several development projects aimed at raising teaching standards and providing a safe, convenient environment for students and staff. The school, which educates over 380 students from Foundation Stage to Grade 12, has long faced space constraints. To address this, work has begun on a new administrative building, replacing a previous half-built structure. Once completed, it is expected to significantly ease administrative difficulties and improve the school’s operational system.
In addition, a turf field project is being implemented to establish sports facilities for students’ physical and social development. Initiated about a year ago with funding from the school’s PTA, the field work is being carried out free of charge by MTCC as part of a CSR project. Most of the work is already completed, and it will provide a safe environment for even the youngest children to play and conduct PE classes.
Under the government’s "Cool School" project, air conditioning has been installed in all classrooms and the hall. Electricity connection to the multipurpose hall is finished, and work to connect power for the air conditioners in that area will begin within the month.
Principal Hussein Naeem Ahmed of Alif Alif Atoll Madrasaa told PSM News that while administrative work is temporarily using some classrooms and a meeting room, the completion of these projects will bring significant educational and administrative advancement. He said, "The completion of the new administrative building will provide a very substantial solution to the space difficulties faced in conducting administrative and academic activities... Once the classrooms are air-conditioned, students will have the opportunity to learn in a very comfortable environment."
These developments are expected to make the school a center bringing new light to the educational future of the island, improving the quality of education and benefiting the entire community.
