Dhiraagu, in collaboration with Women in Tech Maldives, has successfully concluded the Girls to Code Malé Edition, a flagship initiative aimed at equipping young women with essential coding skills. The programme, which supports entry into the technology sector, saw 17 girls graduate from the Malé Edition, bringing the total number of graduates to 108 since the programme's inception in 2019. The closing ceremony was attended by key figures including Minister of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, Dhiraagu’s CEO Ismail Rasheed, and Women in Tech Maldives President Nahza Ibrahim. Minister Haidar emphasized the transformative role of technology and expressed gratitude for the efforts in empowering women and fostering an inclusive society. The programme expanded its target age range to 16-30 and introduced the 'Tech & Beyond' career guidance workshop, connecting participants with female role models in the industry. Participants gained hands-on coding experience, building mini portfolio websites and completing capstone projects. Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives remain committed to bridging the gender gap in tech and expanding the programme’s reach across the Maldives.
