Dr. Ashraf Abdul Raheem, the president of Dhivehi Bahuge Academy (DBA), has stepped down from his position, effective Wednesday afternoon. Ashraf announced his resignation during a meeting with the Academy’s staff at 13:30 pm. The reason for his resignation remains undisclosed. Appointed in August 2021, Ashraf’s term was set to expire in August 2026. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to the development of Dhivehi language and literature, including organizing school-level training programs and competitions. His resignation comes after four years, four months, and 22 days in office.
