Dhivehi Fishermen's Bazaar Launched: Opportunity to Sell Fresh Fish in Malé
Local News ·
With the completion of Ramadan, fishermen from various islands are now able to sell their catch in Malé through the newly established 'Dhivehi Fishermen’s Bazaar.' This market, designed specifically for fishermen from different atolls, aims to facilitate the distribution of fresh seafood. Organized by the Ministry of Fisheries, the bazaar will operate daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an additional slot from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM dedicated to retail sales. This initiative ensures that fishermen from renowned fishing villages like S. Goidhoo, G. Nilandhoo, and Th. Kandoodhoo have a platform to sell their produce. The bazaar also supports the local economy by providing fresh and affordable seafood to residents of Malé. The market is expected to run until March 26, offering a convenient solution for both fishermen and consumers.
