Digital Grading System Implemented to Ensure Transparency in Government Housing Scheme
World ·
The government has transitioned to a fully digitalized grading system for its latest housing scheme to eliminate external influence and ensure fair recipient selection. State Minister for Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development, Ahmed Nazim Mohamed, confirmed that the automated process is designed to uphold the administration's 'Housing for All' policy, prioritizing those in the greatest need.
Speaking on PSM News’s 'Raajje Miadhu' programme, State Minister Nazim explained that every stage of the selection and verification process is managed via an online portal and an automated database. To ensure accuracy, authorities have integrated records from various state agencies, covering land ownership, property holdings, education, and employment history.
The digital framework includes a comprehensive logging system that tracks all portal activity. This allows officials to monitor the process in real-time and immediately investigate any suspicious modifications or unauthorized access, adding a layer of accountability previously absent in manual systems.
"The entire process is a fully digitalised system," State Minister Nazim stated, emphasizing that every action and piece of information is locked and attributed to a specific user. He asserted that this approach will make the current project the most open and transparent housing scheme conducted by the government to date.
The Housing Portal remains the sole official channel for notifications and verification updates. With the initial application window now closed, officials are currently validating the submitted data. The government aims to conclude the verification process by December, with the final list of land and flat recipients expected to be published before the end of the month.
