Faisal Naseem Opposes Salary Hikes for Political Posts, Urges Debt Prioritisation
Politics ·
Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has called on the People's Majlis to reject proposed salary increases for political office holders, arguing that the country's economic difficulties demand a focus on debt reduction and basic rights for citizens. In a post on X, Naseem said that increasing the salaries of political leaders while ordinary workers are being laid off is unacceptable and would further expand the state's recurrent expenditure. His remarks come after the Finance Committee moved to raise salaries for political posts. Naseem urged lawmakers to respect public sentiment and prioritise getting out of debt.
