Fayyaz Sets 'Mega Project' Goal of 10,000 Entrepreneurs to Achieve Financial Independence

Fayyaz Ismail, the former Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has laid out his vision for the country, announcing a "mega project" to create 10,000 entrepreneurs. The announcement was made during the "Big Change Workshop" in Addu City as part of his campaign for the MDP presidential primary.
"My mega project would be to create 10,000 entrepreneurs in the Maldives. Not a bridge. Not anything else," Ismail stated, emphasizing that he is seeking ideas from the public for the initiative.
The candidate stressed that his goal is to free Maldivians from the insecurity of government employment. He pointed out that a five-year government job always carries the risk of loss if the political wind changes. "I'm not talking about a job. I am talking about freeing you from jobs. If we get the opportunity, my wish is to free you. To bring financial independence to you," he said.
Ismail outlined a strategy to assess the specific economic opportunities in each island and to allocate a large portion of the budget to assist those looking to become self-employed. This event is part of his island-hopping tour of Addu City, where he is engaging in door-to-door campaigning to rally support for the upcoming primary.
