FDC Urges 'Gedhoruveriya' Tenants to Report Water Bill Issues

Politics ·
The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has called on tenants of the 'Gedhoruveriya' social housing units in Hulhumale' Phase II to report any issues with their water bills. This comes after several residents of the Amaan Udhares tower complained of receiving unusually high water bills. The FDC has developed 4,000 units under the social housing scheme, with tenants beginning to move into Tower 14 in November. Some residents have reported being charged more than MVR 7,000 for water usage. Male’ Water and Sewerage Services (MWSC) Managing Director Abdul Matheen clarified that the water meters are currently registered to FDC and that bills include charges from testing and commissioning, which the FDC is responsible for paying. The FDC has urged tenants facing issues to contact them via their hotline 3345500 or email hello@fdc.mv, assuring that they are working with relevant authorities to resolve the matter.
