Fenaka Boosts Hoarafushi Power Capacity with New 1,000-Kilowatt Generator

World ·
Fenaka Corporation Limited has delivered a new 1,000-kilowatt generator to Haa Alifu Hoarafushi, aiming to strengthen the island's electricity grid and ensure a more stable power supply for the community. The addition of the new unit is part of a strategic effort to increase the island's power generation capacity to meet the rising demands of a developing population. By integrating this equipment, Fenaka intends to provide residents with a reliable and uninterrupted electricity service, minimizing the risk of outages. Prior to the arrival of the new genset, Hoarafushi's powerhouse operated with a total capacity of 2,720 kilowatts. Once the 1,000-kilowatt unit is fully installed and commissioned, the island's total power generation capacity will rise to 3,350 kilowatts, marking a significant increase in local energy security. Beyond the raw increase in power, Fenaka noted that the upgrade specifically addresses existing space constraints within the powerhouse. The new installation provides a more efficient solution for managing electricity demand during peak hours, when the grid is under the most pressure. The company expects that this additional capacity will further stabilize the island's electricity network, providing the necessary infrastructure to support ongoing residential and commercial development in Hoarafushi.
