Finance Minister Submits MVR 59.7 Million Budget for 2027 to People's Majlis

The Finance Minister, Hassan Zareer, today submitted the state budget proposal for the coming year, 2027, to the People's Majlis. The proposed budget is valued at 59.7 million rufiyaa. Speaker of the People's Majlis, Abdurrahim Abdullah, confirmed that the budget has been received and will be placed on the agenda of a Majlis session after the seven-day period stipulated in the Majlis Rules has elapsed. Speaker Abdullah expressed gratitude and stated that the budget was proposed under the strong policy pursued by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to build a 'Maldivian Maldives', aiming to ensure the peace, security and development of tomorrow for Maldivians. He also thanked the Finance Minister on behalf of the members of the Majlis for submitting the budget. While presenting the budget, Finance Minister Hassan Zareer stated that all foundations of the 2027 budget were laid in a manner that would enable achieving the vision set by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to make the country a developed nation by the year 2040.
