First Lady Sajidha Mohamed declared that the Maldives is firmly on course to build an inclusive society, speaking at a ceremony on Tuesday celebrating new employment opportunities. The event marked the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) providing jobs to 30 individuals with special needs, a move the First Lady said grants them the long-awaited chance to earn an income through their own efforts.
She attributed this significant step in job creation to the current administration's inclusive policies, emphasizing that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has placed special priority on fully integrating people with special needs into the national workforce. The First Lady expressed confidence that this commitment will bring substantial positive change to their lives.
Acknowledging the diverse skills and educational qualifications of the new recruits, the First Lady concluded her address by urging HDC’s staff and management to actively provide support and encouragement to their newly onboarded colleagues, fostering a welcoming and productive work environment.
