First Lady Sajida Mohamed Links True Education to Strong Moral Values

First Lady Sajida Mohamed has emphasized that true education is defined not only by academic achievement but by the possession of strong moral values and character. Speaking at the 20th anniversary celebrations of Mianz College, the First Lady highlighted the intrinsic link between knowledge and ethics in shaping a citizen's contribution to society.
In her address, the First Lady praised Mianz College for its rapid growth and remarkable success over the past two decades. She noted that the government values the institution's role in establishing a robust national foundation, which is essential for nurturing a capable, responsible, and disciplined new generation of Maldivians.
Defining development as the fundamental transformation of the individual, First Lady Sajida described education as the primary vehicle for achieving this change. She reminded the student body that good conduct and integrity are the hallmarks of an educated person, urging them to let these values guide their professional and personal lives.
Addressing the students directly, she called for a steadfast commitment to faith and a deep loyalty to the nation. She encouraged them to remain diligent in their academic and professional endeavors while maintaining a strong sense of pride in their Maldivian identity.
The anniversary ceremony also served as a moment of institutional recognition. Ahmed Muttaqi, the Founder and Chairman of Mianz College, presented the First Lady with a commemorative gift on behalf of the college. Additionally, the institution honored its long-term staff members, presenting commemorative plaques to employees who have reached milestones of 5, 10, and 15 years of dedicated service to the college.
