First Passenger Drone Showcased in Hulhumalé

Technology ·
A special event showcasing the first flight of a passenger-carrying electric drone, also known as an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft), was held in Hulhumalé in the Maldives. The activity was demonstrated in the Channel area of Hulhumalé Phase 1, with the 'Maned Drone' developed by CoolFly, a Chinese company. The Ministry of Transport has decided to continue the activity tomorrow morning and evening. The eVTOL vehicle showcased is the single-seat 'Dream STY' model. An eVTOL is a modern aircraft that rises directly upwards and lands vertically like a helicopter, powered by electricity. It is eco-friendly and quiet. This is an important advancement introduced by China in air travel. For a country like the Maldives, such modern vehicles open up promising opportunities for emergency transportation and rapid travel.
