Five Suspects Arrested in Connection with Drug Trafficking Operation

Five individuals have been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking operation linked to counterfeit currency intelligence in Hulhulhe, Fahu Island. The suspects were apprehended following an operation initiated by the Counter Narcotics Department on December 31, 2025. Authorities seized 102 counterfeit notes and 218 grams of suspected drugs during the operation. The suspects, identified as Shaker Hussein from India, Rosel Mia from Bangladesh, and Pubudu Asela Bandara Dolosba from Sri Lanka, among others, have been detained and are awaiting trial. The operation was part of a broader crackdown on illegal drug and counterfeit currency activities within the region.
