RIYADH — An Egyptian flight attendant working for the Saudi airline flynas was killed in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday, the airline said. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Azza Ramzy. In a post on X, flynas said Ramzy died from severe injuries sustained while she was on duty at an airport terminal and was being treated. The airline offered condolences to her family and thanked her for her service. Ramzy died as she was preparing to travel to Egypt for her marriage, which had been arranged to take place within a few days, according to the report. News of her death caused shock among residents of the Al-Atf area in Mahmoudiyah, Buhaira governorate, her home region in Egypt. Many people on social media expressed condolences to her family and mourned her. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said in a statement that Saturday's attack killed 12 people in total and injured 309. Those killed included four Saudi citizens and two Bangladeshis, as well as one person each from Egypt, the United States, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. The injured were receiving treatment in various hospitals, and some were in serious condition, the authority said. The Saudi-led coalition said the attack was carried out by Yemen's Houthis. The US State Department also condemned the attack following the death of an American citizen. GACA said relevant parties are now assessing the damage to the airport.
