Foreign Minister Credits International Partnerships for Maldives' Progress on 61st Independence Day

Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam has attributed the Maldives' developmental strides since gaining independence to strong, enduring partnerships with the international community. Speaking at a diplomatic outreach event on Saturday, the Minister emphasized that global cooperation has been a cornerstone of the nation's progress over the last six decades. Addressing a gathering of resident and non-resident ambassadors, high commissioners, and representatives of international organizations in Malé, Minister Iruthisham highlighted how these alliances have supported the Maldives' evolution. She reaffirmed the government's commitment to a rules-based international order, emphasizing the roles of dialogue, diplomacy, and multilateralism. This approach aligns with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's "Maldives First" foreign policy, which seeks to balance national interests with active international engagement.
