Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam has reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to strengthening diplomatic and cooperative ties with Switzerland during a farewell meeting with the departing Non-Resident Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, Dr. Siri Walt. During the call, Minister Iruthisham and Ambassador Walt discussed strategic measures to reinforce cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The discussions focused on maintaining a steady trajectory of bilateral and multilateral collaboration, ensuring that the partnership between the two nations remains robust despite the change in diplomatic representation. Minister Iruthisham expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Walt, praising her dedication and the invaluable service she provided in enhancing the relationship between Malé and Bern during her tenure. The Minister emphasized that the current administration views the enhancement of diplomatic ties with Switzerland as a priority for the Maldives. As Ambassador Walt concludes her term, Minister Iruthisham extended her best wishes for the envoy's future endeavors and expressed her openness to working with the incoming Non-Resident Ambassador to continue the momentum of bilateral progress. The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Secretary Aminath Shabeena, Senior Political Director Ahmed Haanee Naeem, and Deputy Desk Officers Khadeeja Aufiyau and Aminath Iba Abdulla Rasheee.
