Former Home Minister Imran Abdullah Accuses President Muizzu of Three Damaging Flaws
Politics ·
Former Home Minister and former leader of the Adhaalath Party, Imran Abdullah, has criticized President Mohamed Muizzu, stating that the President possesses three 'unknown' or unfavourable traits that prevent him from governing effectively. Imran, who was instrumental in bringing Muizzu into politics in 2010, made the comments today. Imran alleged that the first trait is a tendency to lie and fabricate stories, not just in public but also within the cabinet. The second trait, he said, is a quick temper, noting that getting angry easily is a dangerous quality in a leader, especially one who must make decisions. The third and most dangerous trait according to Imran, is that President Muizzu trusts no one, not his ministers, family members, the Police Commissioner, or the Chief of Defence. Imran questioned how a leader who trusts no one can effectively govern the country. The article notes Imran Abdullah's long political history with Muizzu, from introducing him to the political arena in 2010, to serving in the government of Mohamed Waheed Hassan, under former President Abdulla Yameen, and Muizzu's eventual move to the PPM in 2018 and the PNC in August 2023.
